Making Layers
I create art with layers of fabric, papers, pigments, shapes, and ideas. Inspired by the natural world, I fill my tables with materials and pour paint.
I’m searching for colors and textures that will echo what inspired me, like the Wisconsin stream below.
I pour paint over layered fabrics and papers because each takes the diluted pigmented paints in individual ways. This technique gives each layer a unique print that will be used in recombinations to create the art. Ideas for my finished pieces come from looking, researching, and delighting my eye.
